WORK AND WITNESS PROJECTS
PROJECT 1
Harlingen (Spanish) Pastorate
A pastorate in Harlingen needs an extreme makeover. We would like to move the residents out for a week, and have a team come in and make repairs.
PROJECT 2
Matamoros Iglesia del Nazareno
Construction work is needed as this church in Mexico is seeking to add Sunday school rooms to their establishment. This Work and Witness project will include teaching either young children or adults the Word of God. A new church may be on the rise in this area!
PROJECT 3
Matamoros Comedores (Soup Kitchens)
Come and work down in the soup kitchens of Matamoros, Mexico. Here you have the opportunity to teach young children the word of God, each day, and involve yourselves in painting projects or construction.
PROJECT 4
Brownsville New Start Church
The Lighthouse of God in Brownsville needs help as they seek to go all out for the gospel – reach out to the lost. If you have an evangelistic group, this project would be ideal for you. Also, there are some minor repairs needed for the pastor’s house. This home serves as both a parsonage and a church.
Expenses for One Week
Project Funds (work materials)*: Minimum $2,500.00 (we recommend at least $5,000).
Individual Costs**: Prices may very depending on your length of stay and location. For one week, prices will be somewhere around the $200 mark per person.
*Materials must be paid to Kansas at least 3 months prior to missions’ trip. We suggest that you raise these funds with fundraisers, sponsors and/or have students pay portions of the cost. Quite simply, the more your team pays, the more they will be able to do.
**Gas & insurance for driving into Mexico will not been included in costs. This will be a responsibility of each team. Both medical and insurance forms are given below under Necessary Forms. We have attached a document on insurance
right here. All teams must receive their insurance from Kansas City. Global Medical insurance is $3.25 per day per team member. That is a total of $22.75 for a week. Please pay total amount to Kansas City (contact info. below). All team members must have Global Medical Insurance.
Please complete the expenditure form below in order to receive 10% Giving Credit for your traveling expenses. Your travel, lodging, insurance and meals are eligible for credit.
Your Project Funds will be credited at the time they are received in the General Treasurer’s office. Please do not include them on this form.
One way is which you can cut down costs is by staying in churches. If you have members of your team that are not physically able to cope with such conditions, pease notify us, as we have other contacts.
Members of teams who are 19 or older will need passports, or passport cards after June 2009 (please apply now) to return to the U.S. from Mexico. Also, notary forms (below) for teens under 18 will need to be notarized and brought down by adults. We recommend that you keep these documents and other important forms in a safe box at all times.
Beginning June 1, 2009, U.S. & Canadian citizens under the age of 16, or under the age of 19 if traveling with a school, religious, or other youth group, may present a birth certificate, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Canadian Citizenship Card, or a naturalization certificate. Birth certificates can be an original, photocopy, or certified copy. For mor information visit

Unnecessary items (e.g. excessive make up, perfumes, tea cozies…etc.)
Valuables (e.g. jewelry, fancy watches…etc.)
*It is our desire that all teens on the team have multiple opportunities to grow closer to the Lord, and to other brothers and sisters in Christ. The cell phones and MP3s/walkmans are often a deterrent, and hinder fellowship.
Leaders, please bring cell phones for emergency purposes. Parents may always contact Pastor Joe.
Proyecto No Frontera
Hay oportunidades para que la juventud trabaje en ambos lados de la frontera - Valle y Tamaulipas, México. Los viajes del trabajo y del testigo incluirán asistir en servicios del renacimiento (sus regalos/talentos son necesarios e.g. música, actuar, evangelizar…etc.) y los proyectos de trabajo en las iglesian con necesidad (necesitaremos a trabajadores adultos con experiencia). También incluiremos viajes del día a la isla Padre del Sur y a las tiendas en Matamoros. Para la información adicional, favor de contactar a
